Sampaguita Group looks back to the late 1970s and early 1980s to pay homage to the most famous discotheque in the world—Studio 54 in New York City.
Wear your best disco garb and move to the best disco tunes of the era. Studio 54 was known for the appearance of celebrities such as Andy Warhol, Brooke Shields, Mick Jagger, and fashion designer Halston. You may just see some of these celebs strutting the runway during the evening’s fashion show!
FabJetsetter, a clothing company specializing in affordable fashion-forward women’s ensembles, will make its Chicago debut at Studio 54. On that day, affordable contemporary New York style will mix with Chicago pragmatism.
Heide Briffa, who founded FabJetsetter in 2018, travels the globe dressed in her company’s clothing. The Filipino American entrepreneur believes that fashionable clothing should not only be stylish and comfortable but, more importantly, fun to wear.
Strutting on the runway in FabJetsetter collections, will be a roster of student models recruited by our student organization partner, Filipinos in Alliance (FIA) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. FIA, whose goal is to build a sense of belonging and unity with other Filipino Americans, is headed by Samantha Dabu, a Human Resources management major who is also a member of the Junior Board of Sampaguita Group.
In addition to the student models, community leaders will also model clothing to showcase our belief that there is beauty in inclusion and diversity.
